In this rhetorical analysis I examine Oprah Winfrey’s speech at the Golden Globe Awards in 2018. Utilizing a traditional lens, I seek to understand how Oprah uses kairos, synecdoche, and hope to drive audience members to change our “culture broken by brutally powerful men” and seek justice for “all of the women who have endured years of abuse and assault.”
